St. Laurence Chapel welcomes and relies on volunteers. St. Laurence Chapel was established in 1988, with support from the Diocese of Southeast Florida, as Episcopal Mental Health Ministries, a program to provide services for the mentally ill homeless in northern Broward County. Now in its third location in Pompano Beach, this ministry provides its clients with transportation, breakfast, lunch, case management, nursing care, showers, clean clothing, storage, telephones, mailing address, emergency food, hygiene kits, and a daily chapel service (for those who wish to participate). Services are led by area Episcopal clergy and lay leaders. St. Laurence Chapel serves 60 – 70 homeless individuals each day. Read more.

St. Laurence Chapel Teams Are Available To Speak To Your Group
If you are planning programs for your parish, community organization, or professional business meetings, St. Laurence Chapel has teams available to come and speak to your group. If you would like to learn more about homelessness, what is being done, and how you can help, we can answer questions and provide information.
St. Laurence Chapel Welcomes Volunteers
St. Laurence Chapel relies on and welcomes volunteer participation. Some of the many opportunities include operating our clothing distribution center, preparing and serving breakfast and lunch, and participating on committees such as fund raising, public speaking, and special events.
Although it is an autonomous 501(c)(3) corporation with an ecumenical board, St. Laurence Chapel is an outreach ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Southeast Florida and receives support from many congregations in the diocese. The program welcomes gifts of items useful to its clients, as well as financial support for its ministry.
