Clown
Eucharist
On
Saturday morning the St. Thomas (Miami) Clown Troupe
gave delegates the experience of a Clown Eucharist.

"Rainbow"
(Mary Beth Zimmerman of St. Gregory’s,
Boca Raton) reads the first lesson.

Diocesan
Youth Minister Fr. Reggie Payne-Wiens (left)
joined the clowns for the skit presented as the sermon.

Other
actors recruited for the occasion included (l-r) Fr. Bernie Pecaro
and Jennifer Sporl of St. Martin-in-the-Fields, Pompano Beach,
leaders of the Convention planning team, and Canon Fred Masterman,
diocesan Canon for Education and Ministry.

"Misty"
(Lea Crawford) holds the lectionary for "Pockets"
(Fr. Doug Zimmerman) to read the Gospel.

In
the clowns’ sermon, "Pinwheel" (Tab Licea, left), as
the King’s Herald, reads the proclamation of the King’s offer
of a "device to make one clean", which is refused by
"Offended" and "Haughty" ("Misty"
and Fr. Reggie) and forgotten by "Forgetful" (Jennifer
Sporl, right), but pursued by "Rainbow".
"Pockets"
assists Mother Cynthia Gill in preparing the altar,
while "Misty" waits to serve as chalice bearer.
